The tools I use for street photography. I believe in keeping things simple — fewer choices means more focus on the work.
Fujifilm X-T30 II
Main cameraCompact, reliable, and built for the way I like to work. The colour science is what keeps me coming back — there is something about Fujifilm tones that makes the world feel cinematic without forcing it.
I mostly shoot in aperture priority with Auto ISO. It keeps me responsive. I focus on framing and light instead of settings.
Canon 5D Mark II
Full-frame DSLR, 2008Heavy, solid, unapologetically mechanical. The files still hold up — there is depth in the images that feels different from modern mirrorless systems. Slower autofocus forces intention. The weight forces commitment.
When I shoot with this camera, I slow down. And that is often exactly what I need.
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T90
Pocket digicamWeighing around 130 grams, it never leaves my pocket. Parties. Streets. Quick creative experiments. It has that early digital digicam look — direct flash, slightly harsh colours, imperfect in a way that feels honest. Our best smartphones cannot recreate it because they try too hard to be perfect.
Fujifilm DL60
Analog 35mm point-and-shoot, 1989No preview screen. No instant feedback. Just film. Shooting with this camera changes your relationship with time — you cannot overshoot, you cannot correct immediately, you have to trust your eye. The delayed gratification makes every developed roll feel like opening a time capsule.
Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8 WR
Everyday prime — Fuji XMy favourite lens for the streets. Compact, light, and incredibly sharp. It keeps the camera small and discreet, which makes it perfect for long walks. This is the lens I reach for most often.
Tamron 17–70mm f/2.8
Flexible zoom — Fuji XWide when I need context. Longer when I want compression and separation. Fast autofocus and strong image quality across the range. My practical choice for varied situations.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM
Nifty fifty — Canon EFSmall, affordable, and capable of beautiful subject separation. Paired with the 5D Mark II, it delivers that timeless full-frame look.
